Simple Ways To Change The Look Of Your Bedroom and Create A Warm Relaxing Oasis

Creating A Warm Inviting Bedroom

Are you tired of the look of your bedroom? Is a new look way past due?

After a hectic day, we want to enter our bedroom and immediately feel the tension of the day slide away. We want space away from everything else in the house. We want a room that says welcome step inside to peace and calm.

Below are some tips and suggestions that will get you started on creating your perfect relaxing bedroom. Remember it's your bedroom. There are no rules. No right, no wrong. It's all about you.

My first suggestion would be to declutter your bedroom. It's tough to relax when surrounded by clutter. If the first thing you see when you walk into your bedroom is an unmade bed piled with clothes, any thought of relaxing is completely gone.

So start your day by making your bed and putting things away. Pick up anything that doesn't belong in your bedroom.

Once you have gotten any clutter issues in your bedroom resolved and the habit of making your bed has become part of your morning routine, it's time to create a warm, relaxing feel in your bedroom.

Painting the walls a nice soothing color is always a good start. Light pastels are the best choice for creating a calming feel in your space. But maybe you want a bold look, so add a dark-colored accent wall.

Rearrange the bedroom furniture. If possible, put your bed against the wall facing the door. The bed then becomes the focal point of your bedroom. The first thing you see when you enter your bedroom.

Use a side table or small dresser in place of the standard nightstand. You may already have a little table or stand somewhere else in your home that will work. Or check out resale shops. Or how about a couple of floating shelves low on the wall in the area of the usual nightstand. Make a bold statement. Shake things up a bit.

Choose bedding in warm colors. And truly pamper yourself and upgrade your bedding.

You want the bedding to feel as good as the bedroom looks.

And if your bed is the focal point of the room, you want to make it look awesome.

Add pillows and throws. A throw draped over the back of a chair or placed at the foot of the bed can add some pops of color and add to the room's cozy feel. And complete the look with a bunch of assorted colorful throw pillows. Include a mixture of fabrics and textures and various pillow sizes.

When it comes to window coverings, first, you should consider your needs. Do you need a room darkening curtain that will keep the light out? Maybe you prefer blinds or just a valance at the top of your window. If your bedding is a plain color, how about a curtain in a contrasting print to complement your bedding. Or basic neutral-colored linen panels are one of my favorites.

The right window treatment can set the tone for your bedroom.

A basket placed near the bed for those extra pillows can be both decorative and functional.

A cozy chair, a small table, and lighting for a reading nook will create a relaxing area. Kick off your shoes and sit back and enjoy.

Add your personal touches throughout the room. Place some floating shelves on your walls and display a combination of family photos, keepsakes, and plants.

Fairy lights are a great way to add extra light to your room and some creative ambiance. Find a unique glass container and fill it with fairy lights, or use them to decorate a basket or string them across the headboard. Use your imagination.

Rugs are both practical and decorative. Rugs add color and texture to the room. A large rug under a bed, particularly one large enough that you can step onto getting in and out of bed, makes for a cozy addition to your bedroom. Throw rugs on each side of the bed is also an option. If you want to make a color statement try layering rugs

Adding some plants to your bedroom not only brightens up the room with touches of greenery. There is another added health benefit of adding some plants to your bedroom.

5 Benefits of plants

  1. Better sleep

  2. relieves stress

  3. Purify the air

  4. Increase productivity and concentration.

  5. Boost your mood.

So why not add plants to shelves, tables, and even a hanging plant in the corner of your room.

Changing the whole look of your bedroom can be challenging and a lot of work. But it can be a gradual process. Start with minor changes. See what works for you. Before you know it, you will have your perfect bedroom.
